Top-of-the-table Clash

A mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash between FBC Moola and CABS is in the offing at the FBC OH Club this Saturday. A win will enable FBC to reclaim top spot and take their points tally to 41 while a win for CABS will see them extending their lead at the top by 5 points. A draw will see CABS remaining at the summit of the table with a two-point lead, so this is a match in which CABS clearly has more options than their cross-town rivals. In short, FBC, which will be playing at home, has more to lose in this match.

Bragging Rights at Stake

FBC was inactive last weekend after playing their round 14 match against perennial strugglers Payserv in July, while CABS come into this match bubbling with confidence after thrashing CBZ 4-1. In their last match played on 18th August 2018, FBC made a stunning comeback when they cancelled a 3-nil first half lead by Agribank to win 4-3 in a thrilling match in which a loss would have seen last year’s league champions possibly surrendering their title aspirations, not a good way to prepare for the forthcoming epic clash with CABS. The reverse fixture, played at Motor Action Callies ended in in a draw, so this game presents the opportunity for one of the two teams to acquire the bragging rights.

Game of the Season?

The game has generated significant interest in the league, with some touting it as the game of the season while the more modest ones have dubbed it the game of the week.

What they said about the game

“Apo kaapo imwe inofa chete guys this week,” remarked Stanchart midfielder Tawanda Padziri responding to the fixtures list.

“FBC Vs CABS mmmmmmmm game of the week. Imwe ikurohwa 2-0 LOL,” said Terence Mashaira of Agribank

“Dai dzikadyiwa dzese …..LoL,” joked Michael Kapachika of CABS

For FBC, Lyneton “Tronix” Tambwera is expected to have big say on the match while CABS will likely look up to Marvin Joe Vuma for inspiration. May the best team on the day win. ©MFSB Sport
