It’s Official – FSSL Teams Dress Better than Some PSL Teams. At least according to Sir of the 18area.coms fame. 18area.coms is a weekly column in the Sunday Mail sports section, which tackles football topics in an irreverent but amusing way.  This is what Sir had to say recently about the dress sense of some top PSL teams versus FSSL teams.

“Last weekend I watched the ZNA Charities semi-final between Caps United and Dynamos and felt sorry for both sets of players. The uniform both teams were wearing, which could do with some magic wash… Perfectly, I understand where NetOne are coming from when they give a local company the tender to supply DeMbare, Makepekepe and Bosso with uniforms. A big corporate promoting local business, buying Zimbabwean, ticks all the right boxes. However, we won’t be doing anyone any favour if we don’t highlight that the kits could have done with a little more imagination. When several teams who while up time in the Bankers League dress better than the three giants who get money from NetOne deal, then you know that we are in trouble.  These days we are told that “chikuru kufema” (life is the most important thing), but just how do you breathe in such ugly uniforms? Caps United were forced to wear the “dish towel” last year and there was a huge roar. Such noise is yet to get to those who kit Makepekepe because the bar has not been raised – and now DeMbare and Bosso have been added to the victims list,” said Sir in an acerbic column titled “These kits are made in hell” in The Sunday Mail of 25 February 2018.

Sir might be right about the quality of the uniforms but one thing he must be reminded is that FSSL teams don’t “while up time”, they mean business. He should be invited to the next game between say FBC Moola and Standard Chartered Bank and see if he still has the same view after match. – MFSB Sport
